Occupied Stolen Vehicle Recovery
44-year-old Jason C. Watkins of Sonora was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
At 3:00 a.m on Wednesday, October 14th, a Sonora Police Officer was conducting a patrol check of the Bank of America Parking in downtown Sonora when she spotted an occupied 2007 orange and red Toyota Corolla with a broken window and spray painted body parts. The Officer conducted a registration check on the vehicle and determined it was reported stolen out of Tuolumne County on October 7th.
The Officer conducted a high-risk stop and took Watkins into custody without incident. Watkins was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle and a local misdemeanor warrant for obstructing or delaying an officer.
