Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

Subject: Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest

12 January 2016, at approx. 10:08 A.M., officers responded to the Sonora Gold Lodge (480 W. Stockton Street) for a reported disturbance. When officers arrived, they made contact with an adult male. The male related he and his girlfriend, who was identified as Katrina Guthrey, a 22 year old Sonora area transient, were involved in an altercation.

During the altercation, Guthrey picked up an un-opened metal can of soup and struck the victim with it. The victim then attempted to flee the motel room, and while doing so, Guthrey threw the can of soup at him, striking the victim again. The victim had visible injuries but refused medical treatment.

Guthrey is on probation out of Tuolumne County for numerous convictions. Guthrey was contacted and taken into custody without incident. Guthrey was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked for; felony assault with a deadly weapon; felony inflicting injury to a domestic partner; felony violation of probation.
