RECOMMENDATION:
The Sonora Police Department recommends that the Sonora City Council accept the grant awarded by Wal-Mart. The grant will be combined with the first Wal Mart grant that was accepted on November 1, 2004.
BACKGROUND:
The Sonora Police Department submitted a grant application to Wal Mart in the fall of 2004. This grant application was awarded and accepted by the City Council on November 1, 2004.
DISCUSSION:
Last week Wal Mart contacted the Police Department and advised that they wanted to award a second grant to the Sonora Police Department. I graciously accepted the grant on behalf of the City of Sonora Police Department.
The

acceptance of the second grant from Wal Mart.
