Subject: Contract for Services-Mother Lode Fair
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that the Sonora City Council approve the Contract to provide Police Services for the annual Mother Lode Fair July 14 through July 17, 2005. Staff also recommends that the Sonora City Council authorize the Chief of Police to execute on the City's behalf.
BACKGROUND:
The Sonora Police Department has been supplying Police Services for the Mother Lode Fair for the past fifteen years. Each of those fifteen years the Police Department has entered into a contract with the State of California to provide the Police Services.
DISCUSSION:
The Sonora Police Department received the attached
contract from Jan Haydn-Myer, the Fair Manager, to provide Police Services for
the Mother Lode Fair July 14 through July 17, 2005. Typically the hours worked
will be from 8 pm to midnight each night. Also, as occurred last year, we will
be sharing the duties with the California Highway Patrol. The City of Sonora will
be reimbursed for the cost of these Police Services in the amount of $3,500.
