Date: October 4, 2004
To: Honorable Mayor and Council Members
Subject: Resolution number 10-04-2004-A, Establishing A Revised Fee Schedule for certain Services Provided by the Sonora Police Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council pass and adopt Resolution Number 10-04-2004-A establishes a revised fee schedule for certain services provided by the Sonora Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
It has been two and one half years since the fee schedule has been updated. I was requested to review the fee schedule and make any recommendations necessary for fee changes.
Discussion:
The fee schedule was reviewed and only one fee was found that needed to be increased. The Vehicle Release fee is currently $25.00. Staff conducted a time and motion study and found that the fee could conservatively be raised to $50.00 and be more in line with personnel costs. Several other departments are charging more than this amount. In developing the Resolution I have reorganized the Resolution in the hopes it is easier to follow and understand.
Respectfully,
Mace
